Q - How would you describe Detie ?
A - Uhh I would say she’s a leader. She’s smart, outspoken. She’s proactive, a go getter and someone who never does anything haphazardly
Q - What is your political ideology and how would you describe your stance on key issues?
A - I’d say I’m a liberalist. I like to believe everyone’s opinions matter. And yes traditions have helped us in times past, but we can change and we can adapt.
Q - Can you share a childhood memory that influenced your current dreams and aspirations?
A - Well my biggest cheerleader is my dad. He’s always you can do it, you can do it, always be yourself. He knows I’m an outspoken person when i need to be, and a reserved person when I need to be. So he knows that when there’s something that needs to be done for good, I’ll do it. I can’t just stand and let things go the way they go if that way is wrong. He’s one of the persons that have supported me from the jump, so I have a lot of childhood memories where he’s told me that don’t wait for someone else to do it. Be the one to do it. I mean you’re there so what’s the point of waiting. I think that’s where my independence comes from.Â

Build your portfolio, volunteering experiences and leadership skills. Don’t focus on those who say you can’t lead simply because you’re a woman instead focus on those who wholeheartedly support you. Cut off all propanganda at the stem and don’t underestimate any opponent. As a women you have to be the very best because the odds are already stacked against you
