Sometimes, I open my eyes to behold a jungle
Hollow trees with winding roots long enough to make me stumble
The quiet gets overwhelming and then I hear it
Maybe I should run as my human instinct predicts
But I keep a keen eye and a steady ear
whilst I hide in the shadows near
Then I am struck with a chilling view
A hungry pack of wolves snacking on their latest meal
I hold back a scream and bid my body to retreat behind
When I hear a low foreign voice in my mind
Bidding me to join and take whatever I can find
I hesitate immediately, wishing I was back at home
With nothing but family and my addictive phone
But first, I need a plan to escape this nightmare
Perhaps if I join them, they will lead me out of here.
