When David's wife died during childbirth, I was the one who comforted him throughout. I saw him lock himself in his room for days, crying and wailing, while I took care of his twin boys.

I happily cared for my best friend's children, even though it meant missing a semester of school.

Three months in, he stopped crying and started bringing another woman to the house. She would stay for days, giving me attitude and ignoring the kids. Was this the person he wanted to replace his late wife with?

The day I eventually asked him, his response was, "I can't take care of these kids by myself, and you have school. The only solution is getting another woman to do the job, and Juliet is capable."

Before I even finished my complaints, he shrugged. "I'm going to marry her."
