Throughout history up till date, women’s stories have been erased and their voices silenced. Their contributions have been undervalued or ascribed to their male counterparts. Countless decades of such erasure and silencing led us to ask, who tells your story as a woman? 

For this Iko 2024 Women’s Month Writing Contest, we are inviting female writers to submit creative non-fiction essays on the theme “Who tells your story?”

Word Count?

1200 to 2000 Words

How will winners be selected?

The top 10 essays with the highest number of likes will be included in the longlist, from which our editorial team will carefully select the 5 winning essays.

When is the deadline for the contest?

Submissions open on the 10th of March 2024 and close on the 18th of March 2024.
