I wore my heart on my left sleeve
The world had it retailored
Picking it’s edges apart
Pulling stitches away.
I wore my retailored heart on my sleeve
This time on my right sleeve
It’s my strong arm, set to shield me from the perils of the world
This time my heart was broken
It’s part thrown in crevices and left too far for repair
I wore my scarred heart on my sleeve and with child like cacophony I ran into your arms, starring you in the face, daring you to unscrew what’s left of it.
