Mad Woman's Chronicles

Staring at the sun, I hoped it would burn me. All I wanted was to perish and it wasn't working. Poison, no. Strangling, no. I wanted something else, someone else but me to do the job.

Life was meaningless, everything was void to me. If only I could cease to exist, I'd be grateful. Don't blame me, don't pity me and don't feel any way for me.

I felt a drop of water on my head.

“Oh!”

The weather was changing quickly and the sun I wished burned me, went behind clouds before I could find shelter.

“'What crazy and unreliable weather”, I thought as I stood still in the rain that made people run.

Maybe the rain could help, at least thunder could strike me and I'd perish immediately.

But it didn't.

I kept shouting.

“Strike me, you crazy thunder!”

Nothing happened.

All I got was stares from people hiding from the rain. Until I felt something hit me.

At first I thought my prayer got answered, I staggered and was ready to meet my maker.

Another whip came, accompanied by a loud command.

“Tarhhh!!! Comot for here, no dey make nonsense noise under this hot sun, you this mad woman!!!"

No one pays attention to a mad woman's thoughts anyway! I hissed back at the security man, squeezed my freshly baked bread and ran away.
