A story of wistful love.

This book is a literary fiction.

Suffice to say, after the last review I was hooked and I had to read another book by the author. So I picked the infamous read. "The death of Vivek Oji"

Its Glory of Glorysvoice and I am here again this week with another review.

The death of Vivek Oji is the story of a young beautiful man named Vivek Oji born into a traditional igbo family with Indian roots from his mother's side. A simple and sweet family who lived in Ngwa. Vivek is the only child.

The only extended family was Vivek's fathers brother, Chika's family. The Same family tree with Vivek's, just one child named Osita and they live in Owerri. The two cousins were tight-knit as they grew up until an occurrence which made Osita keep his distance from Vivek.

Vivek grew up to be an unusual child in his environment. His nature raised his parent's eyebrows that his mother, Kavita had reached out to Osita's mum for help who will in turn take Vivek to church for deliverance.

He grew into an adult who had to live his real identity in secrecy to only his close friends' knowledge and Osita would become something other than a cousin to Vivek.

(This author is so scandalous, giggles).

A story about Vivek's life, Identity, love, family, and friends

This is a story of love, identity, pain and loss.

This is a very sad read, i almost don't know how to review it right. Like I'm scared I won't use the right words for this book. It's so deep, beautiful and sad.

It's a very popular book and I have seen it on twitter and literal communities quite a number of times now and everytime im told how sad it is. So i was prepared or so i thought. But reading this book felt like listening to a really sad song…

And as usual, the author delivered beautiful lines.

"It was impossible not to miss him when I was with her; it was as if someone had driven a shovel into my chest, then levered it out again, taking up all it could hold, leaving a screaming mess behind."

This book surrounds themes like identity, love, pain and family.

A 10/10 read.

See you next week lovelies.
