“I thought we were great
You took your love back and ran us off track
I counted all the days
'Til you would come back, how stupid was that
Now you're missing what we used to have
Guess the vodka brought the feeling back
I was caught up in the aftermath
But now... if you really wanna know
Ask how many nights I've been thinking of you
Zero, zero
Gave a hundred percent but all I got from you
Zero, zero
I thought you were the one (ayee), then you turn and run (ayee),…”
Matilda sings along to Chris Brown’s Zero on the top of her voice, “that’s for you Daniel, you are such an ass.”
Leila grinned, her full lips complimenting her chubby cheeks, “I swear Daniel has forgotten you, it’s been what? Four years?”
“I boil afresh anytime I think about what the idiot did.” Matilda hissed.
“Don’t I know this!” Leila smirked and scrolled through the playlist, putting on a new song.
“Red light
You know I can't make this thing that official
Believe, we had a great night
But I ain't the type to tell you that I miss you, shit
You don't like that, I make this easy (Easy)
Leaving (Leaving)
After sexing on the floor
Baby I know you need me (Need me)
Like I need you (Need you)
But I'm not the one you wanna love
So just pop a couple bands with a nigga like me
Loving ain't the same with a nigga like me
You used to them
But ain't no loving me….”
“Chill, wait,” Matilda exclaimed suddenly, cutting off the music. “What is this song? Are you, are you having casual sex?” Her eyes went wide, Leila thought her friend might actually have gone blind.
“At least, it’s better than taking a swipe at your ex whenever an opportunity to do so presents itself,” Leila retorted.
“He deserved it.”
“I hear you master,” Leila scoffed, resuming the music. “Wait a fucking minute, where the fuck are we?”
Matilda pursed her lips, it was true she couldn’t find a familiar sight looking around. “I agree that I don’t know the way anymore, let’s just make use of the GPS.”
“If I didn’t ask, you wouldn’t say?” Leila hissed. She plugged in the GPS and met with a dead end. “This thing isn’t coming on.”
“Try again, it is.”
“I am trying, I have and it’s not coming on,” Leila hissed again, frustrated and not to say the least frustrated with her friend.
Matilda leaned over and attempted to put it on, her efforts proved abortive. She took a swipe at the GPS and repeated the yet again fruitless effort. She took a look at her friend and it dawned on both ladies that they were lost.
“I am going to kill you,” Leila muttered angrily and with the flaming look on her face, Matilda did not doubt it an inch. “I am seriously going to kill you Matilda Tiaraola Joshua, you can be sure of that.”
“We are both in this situation together, spare my life and kill me only when I try to abandon you.” Matilda placated her friend
“When?”
“If,” she corrected, her face so sober, one could mistake the look to be that of genuine apology.
“Get me out of this lost place,” Leila hissed.
