All these years, I've searched for the land where my home is;
I walked the wild streets of Lagos,
Braved the confusing roads in Kano,
Took shelter for a while in Gusau,
But I didn't find my home in these lands.
I knew people's hearts were homes
Wider than Noah's ark,
But I couldn't find shelter in any.
Every heart I turned towards couldn't harbor me.
So, where's my homeland?
I searched and searched
Until I found myself in the land of books.
"Yes, I said, yes: I will be a citizen of that country,
I will swear allegiance to that kingdom, the kingdom of the bookshelf."
