My Home Is You

There was a place where I always turned to when the world screamed chaos,

My Sanctuary where I find rest,

A covering that protects from the scorches of the Sun, the cascade of the rain and the severity of life,

My safe space for correction and coddling,

Somewhere I can be Me in it’s full capacity without being mindful,

A place that admires my presence and loves up on me for just being,

I love you ohh how much I do,

You take reception of my laughter, screams, tears, anger, joy, and reactions, you take it all in

Holding none of it against me,

Nowhere has all it takes for such a carriage except in there,

“In there” which is You.

My Home is a person, not a place,

My Mum, My Own, My Honour,

I may be far away from you but

Home will always be you, wherever you are.
