I sprawl my arms around the bounteous sea
The waves, pirouette closer as I stretch
The sea is a brusque green heave
and night-strewn salt accross the sky
beyound stars,
beyound rivers and streams
and yes, the mermaid stands at the center;
brown,
oblong-headed lioness,
breath of indigo,
with a fish-glow sheen she answers—
Mami of the seas saltiness
sophisticreamy!
stretch out your wavelets in swirling eddies upon my palms
and feet of desperate need,
draw me near—
race! race! me
with sharks, dolphins and hammerhead
on sea weed,
to touch your divine,
waltzing through the blue sea
Then leave a potion,
a drop or two
that it dissolves and soothes me to sleep in
jelly-fish repose.
