Religion is comforting because it allows us the space to be comfortable in ourselves. A blissful advantage that fuels us towards the life we want for ourselves. 

How does that happen?

Your faith gives you a code of conduct, your KPIs are in this one book, surely you know it so very well.

You know what you’re supposed to do but the “how” is open to interpretation. Even “God” as a concept is open to interpretation.

With over 8 billion human conceptions of God, we can deduce that religion should not be the basis for kindness, community, and love for others. Instead, we should make it “humanity”- the fact that one exists.

Religion fosters polarization and othering that can easily result in violence.

How? Because every religious person will defend their own interpretation of God, regardless of the humanity of the next person. Think of how region is spread: through conquest. When the arms are no longer palatable, they resort to a conquest of thought. And what better way to do that than with a book?
